Vintage 1950 hand tipped in lithograph of Picasso’s Still Life with Antique Head (1925).

Commentary on the work circa 1950:

A marvellous demonstration of light effects conceived wholly in the imagination, and obeying an inner logic. Probably the artist had in mind Greek vases and the drawings on a black ground figuring on lecythi. But whereas Greek art aimed only at decoration, Picasso concentrates on form and composition, and by a briltantly conceived lay-out of planes coloured solely in browns and whites, he achieves a luminosity rarely, if ever, equalled in the history of art.

10.5” x 7.75” lithograph hand tipped in on thick 12.75” x 9.75" paper.
